Spending time with family and friends is something we both treasure - stop for a moment, let the world be still. To just be in each others company - to laugh, to love, to sing, to cry, to celebrate life - through all the highs and lows we are bound in friendship and family, giving us strength and joy. We want you, family and friends to be there when we promise to bind our lives together in that presence you bring that nourishes us so much.
Travel is part of who we are and what we are made of. It brings novelty - adventure - challenge - inspiration - knowledge. Travel takes us away from the day to day - a glimpse of shores new and renewed possibilty. Our first year and a half together involved taking an automobile, a train as well as the plane to see each other - and while happier living in the same town - Amsterdam will always be the trip that made all this possible.
So we want you to join us and ask you to do just that - take the plane train and automobile to be there. It's a long way to go to get there, but a short trip to make to meet old friends and new. Being there takes us all out of our routine - and maybe brings the promise of that renewed possibilty. We know it's a lot to ask to gather so many people in a far-flung location (not too far!) - but we think this is a trip worth making - both with us and for us. So please join us - to relax and just take a moment to be - to celebrate the joining of our lives, in the presence of you, our family and our friends.

We’re so excited to be celebrating our wedding with all of you, and as we started planning, we knew we wanted the day to reflect not just who we are, but also what matters to us. That’s why we’re doing things a little differently - starting with this web page. While we do love beautiful stationery, we figured we’d save a few trees (and avoid the post office queue) by going digital! Plus, it gives us more room for updates, Spotify playlists, and last-minute enthusiastic reminders!
We’ve also chosen a venue in Portugal that champions sustainability. Located on the edge of a National Park - think sun, fresh air, and a location that treads lightly on the planet. It’s a place that’s beautiful not just in how it looks, but in how it operates—recycling, reducing waste, and generally being good eggs when it comes to the environment.
Our menu will be low carbon and locally sourced, which basically means fewer air miles, more seasonal deliciousness, and supporting nearby farmers and producers. It’s a way to celebrate the place we’re in while keeping things thoughtful and (we hope) tasty!
Of course, we know that travel has an impact too, and while we can’t teleport everyone just yet, we can balance things out a bit. So for each of you making the journey to join us, we’ll be planting trees to offset the carbon emissions from your travel. It’s a small gesture, but one that lets us grow something lasting from the day - alongside the happy memories.
